Kielo Wrap Dress
I took part in another sew along on Instagram. This time it was one with PrettyGirlsSew. For this sew along, we used the Kielo wrap dress. In addition, they instructed us to select our power color, and make the dress in that color. Color has always influenced me, and I believe it has deep meaning. So much so, that I wrote a blog about it on my custom window treatments blog titled Color Sets the Mood. I find it just as appropriate for clothing.
Fabric Selection
My power color that I selected is red. Red is a very intense color and represents power, determination, energy, and strength. These have been very dominant characteristics in my life and have helped me become the person I am today. For this make, I used a red ponte knit fabric to make my dress opposed to a jersey knit, because I preferred a knit that was more opaque.
The Kielo wrap dress is a pattern by an indie company Named Clothing. I downloaded the PDF pattern and taped it together to get started. The pattern was an extremely easy to make. It was only three pieces, a front and back and the ties. The instructions were very clear, and easy to read with clear diagrams for each step. It took about an hour from start to finish, and the dress was all complete.
The dress is a pullover and ties around the waist and is extremely comfortable. I have seen this dress made several times on Instagram, and there are tons of reviews. I would recommend this dress for anyone who is looking for a quick, easy sew, and also anyone who is interested in trying out Indie patterns.
