Gorgeous Lavender Dress from Glasshouse Patterns
I had the privilege of testing another pattern. This time I tested the lavender dress from Glasshouse Patterns. Glasshouse Patterns is an indie pattern company that I came across as on Instagram. When I saw the dress in the testing announcement for the lavender dress, I instantly knew I wanted to take part.
The dress is very feminine. The pattern features both a mini dress as well as a maxi length dress. Also, there is a top option. It has a loose fit that has a tie to accentuate the waist. It has the option of soft ruffles across the top of both the dress and the top which sits on the shoulders. There is also an option to make all the options without the ruffle, in the case that ruffles are your thing. Tie shoulder straps and a cute bodice style make this pattern unique. Pockets are also available on the dress, which I think we all will love.
I went with the mini dress option with the ruffles. You know already I love a flowy dress. This was a fairly easy dress to sew. The instructions are very clear and the images help you along the way. There were no adjustments needed. With the loose fit of the dress, it was very easy to accommodate all of my body measurements. I used a polyester faille that I picked up from Walmart. This fabric is super silky, and was perfect to complement the feminine flow of the design of the lavender dress. I must also mention that this fabric was super affordable…..5 yards for $5. I did not need the entire 5 yards of fabric to complete the dress.
Overall, I love the lavender dress. It is really cute and feminine, and can be made in many beautiful flowy fabrics from cotton lawns, georgette, and chiffon. I will enjoy this dress a few more times while we still have tremendous summer heat here in New Orleans. In addition, I look forward to making the top as well as the maxi length version for next spring summer season.
