Brooklyn Boot Skirt
I am starting to love pattern testing. It is such a great way to learn new Indie companies. The Brooklyn Boot Skirt is from an Indie pattern company named Tie Dye Diva. I had the opportunity to test this skirt pattern.
There are two versions of this skirt, a knee length and a boot length. Also there are two waist band options. There is a low waist which features one row of elastic, or a natural waist which has two rows of elastic. Because I am only 5′ 1″, I decided on the low waist knee length. The skirt is very easy sew. It literally took me an hour to put this together. There are very few pattern pieces, and the instructions are clear and easy to follow. Fabric recommendations are woven fabrics such as linen, cotton, denim, suiting, or corduroy. In addition, you will also need 1″ elastic for the waist band. The only adjustment I made was to shorten the length 4 inches.
There are so many pluses to this skirt, I am sure you will want to sew one up for yourself. First is the comfortable elastic waistband. This is great as it not only prohibits a gap in the waist, but it also gives you room in the event that you have any minor bloating throughout the day. Another thing I love about this skirt is the roomy side pockets. I love any skirt with pockets, and these do not disappoint. You can literally store a larger cell phone in here.
This skirt is great for a day at the office, or you can dress it down and run errands in it. If you are interested in the Brooklyn Boot Skirt, be sure to visit Tie Dye Divas site as the pattern is on sale at a great discount.
Thank you for being such a valuable tester, and for this thorough post! Your skirt looks great!
